In a medium bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt together until well combined.
Add the buttermilk and 1 tablespoon of the butter, stirring with a spatula until a ball of dough forms. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle roughly 16 by 10 inches.
In a separate bowl, combine the remaining butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Spread this garlic butter mixture evenly across the rolled-out dough.
Roll the dough into a log shape. Slice the log lengthwise down the middle and gently braid the two halves together. Coil the braid into a swirl shape, like a snake, with each end coiled in opposite directions.
Place the coiled dough into a medium-sized loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
